The DJ Dennis J Podcast

I had an incredible wedding where the ending set was all house and top40 remixes by request from the bride and groom. I had a feeling it was going to be quite a mix so I hit record in Scratch Live shortly after I began the set.

Since I planned to post an August Top40 Remix podcast and never got around to it, I decided to post this. This mix has sooo much energy, it is impossible not to want to move to this. I swear even stroke victims will be going in circles.

No Funkymix, no Ultimix, no Crack4DJs, no Crooklyn Clan mask-your-skills remix services. No Fatman Scoop, no 'put your hands up'. Just pure mixing, the way it was done back when you could only say you were a DJ if you actually had skills.

Creative Music June Mix (90s with a touch of current hits)

Some of you have been requesting a new mix so here's one I threw together. It's got some old school, some current hits, and a bunch of wordplay and phrase matching. It's just basically a fun mix that should give you an idea of what my style is.

Giving credit where it is due, I got the idea for the Johnny Kemp segue from Preston (DJ Wreckrd, who learned it from DJ Rush if I recall correctly), but I've never heard it actually done so this is 100% original, and probably not as good as he would do it. Anyway, he shouldn't mind since we all stick together and support each other in the SD scene.

For those with kids, the mix is 100% clean language, I consider it 'radio friendly'. There's some suggestive stuff (hot in herre?) and of course drinking (brand new club hit 'shots' by LMFAO) but it's nothing that wouldn't be played on the radio.

This is a re-record of the set I used for April Club Demo II. I really just wasn't 100% happy with it, despite the compliments that were received. Here's my new attempt at it. Several songs were changed and bit were changed. As anyone knows you can't ever perform a mix the same way twice!

Be warned-- It's not kid-friendly, it's built for clubs. But, it contains transitions and ideas that I've worked hard to invent. This is not typical song-to-song mixing, folks. This is creativity and remixing at my new all-time high. Because it's a bit adventurous, I really need to know what everyone thinks.
